Technical information for Speakers and E-posters
Guidelines for Oral Presentations & E-posterInformation for Oral Presentation authors and Invited Speakers
Virtual Oral Presentations - Invited Speakers and Oral Communications Authors will receive a link from the organizing secretariat, to reserve a time slot to pre-record a back-up of their speech and test their connection. Speakers and authors will then be requested to broadcast live during the live session in which their presentation has been included. Kindly, take note that within the month of September, speakers and authors will be required to attend technical trials with the Technical Service in preparation of their live presentation. In case your time zone will not allow you to take the presentation in live mode, please inform us so that we can arrange to record your presentation in advance. More detailed instructions will be sent in due time.
In-person Oral presentation Authors and Invited Speakers will be requested to bring with them a USB with the slides of the power point presentation, at least 1 hour before their speech, at the Slide Center located in the Congress Venue. PLEASE NOTE THAT all the scientific sessions will be uploaded on the virtual platform and will be available to all participants in the on-demand area, after the Congress. EXCLUDED NOT CME ACCREDITED SESSIONS.
E- Posters Authors are kindly requested to upload the pdf of their poster on the dedicated virtual platform, using the credentials they received in the e-poster instructions letter. Posters will be only electronic and neither presentation, nor discussion are foreseen. Your e-poster must be uploaded in PDF format – max file size 20 MB. Presentations will be accepted only if uploaded as PDF/Acrobat format. One-page for Scientific Poster as well as multipage file for Educational Poster is supported. In this case, it is recommended to limit your poster to no more than 6 pages. If your presentation is set on a multi-page poster, the number of pages is unlimited. However, we remind that the higher the number of pages, the heavier the file to download will be. Please, note that if during the submission you selected as preferred “Oral” or Exhibit Poster (hardcopy), you will be requested to upload a one-page pdf. In addition to the PDF file, you can also attach an audio comment, in MP3 format - max file size 10 MB. We suggest 1 or 2-minute speech max.
All accepted posters will be published on the Supplement of the Paediatric Radiology Journal, edited by Springer.
PLEASE NOTE THAT All accepted E-posters will be included in a dedicated on-demand section of the Congress virtual platform, accessible to all participants, and visible in PDF format with (optional) audio commentary from the author (MP3 format). In the e- poster area participants will be able to send questions and/or comments, which wil be then forwarded to the speakers/authors who will personally answer. We would like to remind all the speakers that the on-demand contents will be uploaded on the virtual platform of the Congress and consequently, in order to follow UEMS procedure, they will be requested to sign the mandatory UEMS Disclosure form.
Each speaker shall have available:
- PC or Mac, slightly raised from the table if possible, with a stable internet connection (5 Mbit/sec in upload). Please, before starting, make sure to TEST the connection speed and quality of your device through one of the following common speed test website: www.speedtest.net/it OR speedtest.googlefiber.net

- Earphones with microphone (in order to avoid the echo effect)

A “general trial” of your presentation is foreseen, where you will be connected remotely one-to-one with a dedicated technician. This is why it is important that the test is carried out from the same location and using the same equipment you plan to use during the live event. The purpose of the test is:
- Verify internet connection and equipment
- Get familiar with the web platform
- Test your presentation
PREPARING YOUR INTERVENTION
Your presentation can be realized in the formats listed below:
- pptx (Microsoft Office PowerPoint);
- key (Keynote for Mac)
Each pptx or key presentation, with embedded videos, should be produced in 16:9 landscape format (horizontal) only.
PRESENTATION DURING LIVE EVENT
Intervention shall be led from the same location, using the same equipment during the technical test. Please remember that each Speaker should be connected 60 minutes before the beginning of the Session. Further details and information about your intervention during the Live Event will be communicated by the technicians during the test.
In case it is necessary to pre-record and send a presentation please note.
It is important that the PowerPoint or keynote presentation has a space for positioning the camera so as to avoid covering important concepts present at that particular point of the slides. This space should be left on the top of the slide on the righthand side. Please avoid background noise while recording and use a background as much neutral as possible.
